World Bank RH Action Plan 2010-2015

22nd June 2010

The World Bank has released their Reproductive Health Action Plan 2010-2015 set to help poor countries reduce high fertility rates and prevent widespread deaths of mothers and children. The Bank warned that family planning and other reproductive health programs vital to poor women had fallen off the development radars of many low-income countries, donor governments, and aid agencies.

The Action Plan specifically highlights the importance of RH commodity security and the work of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition. The plan states the World Bank's commitment to working with the Coalition and its member organizations to minimize stock-outs, shipment delays, and under- or over-supply of commodities.
