Request for Proposal (RFP) – for a situational analysis of RH medicines in four countries.
26th October 2012
Concept Foundation invites organizations/institutions (non-governmental organizations, consultancy firms, academic institutions, and training institutions) to submit a proposal to conduct situational analyses for reproductive health medicines in four countries – Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal and Senegal as per the Terms of Reference (TOR) which can be accessed via the Concept Foundation website.
In August 2011, the UK Department for International Development (DFID) provided support to the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) to undertake a major programme entitled “Quality of Reproductive Health Medicines” (QuRHM). This programme is being managed by Concept Foundation on behalf of the RHSC. Concept is working with partners, particularly the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Health Organization’s Prequalification Programme (WHO/PQP) to achieve the outcomes required. The programme aims to contribute to the shaping of a more vigorous market for quality assured reproductive health (RH) medicines.
The Situational Analysis, in four pilot countries will be undertaken through engaging and working in partnership with national stakeholders toward ensuring national ownership from the outset. This analysis will seek to understand and document the current dynamics of the reproductive health medicines market and the regulatory and policy environment within which it functions. This will involve the collection of market data and engagement with key stakeholders in each country as well as relevant stakeholders at the international level whose inputs impact upon the market-place e.g. procurement agencies and donors. The analyses, together with the supporting documentation underlining the findings will be utilized as the baseline for the development of individual strategies for each country.
