New workstream for postpartum hemorrhage medication

8th August 2019

The Maternal Health Supplies (MHS) Caucus has launched a new workstream to increase access to tranexamic acid (TXA), a medication used to avert excessive blood loss including postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). Workstream members are exploring opportunities to better understand the market for TXA as a first step in developing a business case to spur greater investment in quality-assured TXA. The workstream is also identifying gaps in current TXA programming, research, and knowledge dissemination. Chaired by the Concept Foundation’s new Executive Director, Metin Gülmezoglu, the group will meet virtually every two months. For more information, please contact the group’s RHSC lead Milka Dinev at mdinev@rhsupplies.org.
