Cupid™ female condom receives UNFPA prequalification

The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition is pleased to announce the successful prequalification by WHO/UNFPA of the Cupid female condom. We extend congratulations to our partner agency Cupid Ltd, a Coalition member since November last year.The female condom is the only female-initiated method of HIV prevention that is safe and effective.

Today’s announcement means that women now have two UNFPA prequalified condoms to choose from.  It also entitles UNFPA to purchase the Cupid female condom through its regular procurement programs, including AccessRH.

Since 2005, UNFPA has managed, for the UN system, the prequalification program of male and female condoms and TCu380A IUDs. Click here for more information.
