Coalition facilitates breakout session on safe abortion supplies at the Joint WHO-UNICEF-UNFPA Manufacturers Meeting

On 4 December 2019, the Coalition facilitated a breakout session on safe abortion supplies at the Joint WHO-UNICEF-UNFPA Manufacturers Meeting. This meeting typically is held annually in Copenhagen, Denmark, and attracts a broad range of health commodity manufacturers and suppliers. At the request of the event organizers, the focus of the breakout session was on the relationship between MA manufacturers and international quality assurance standards. This resource summarizes the safe abortion breakout session and its outputs.

For many years, the Coalition has supported efforts to increase demand among manufacturers, procurers, and national stakeholders for RH supplies that can be trusted as safe and effective. The outputs from the session in Copenhagen add to our body of knowledge in support of these efforts. The Secretariat’s work in the area of safe abortion supplies is funded by DFID, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation and an anonymous donor.
