Call for nominations for Chair of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition

The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition is a global partnership of more than 200 public, private, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can choose, access, and use affordable, high-quality supplies to ensure their better reproductive health. Since 2004, the Coalition has been at the forefront of international efforts to assure reproductive health commodity security by increasing resources, strengthening systems, and building effective partnerships.
This Coalition’s governing body, its Executive Committee, is seeking nominations to fill the post of the Coalition Chair which will become vacant in June 2013. Holding the senior-most position within the Coalition’s governance structure, the Chair leads from the helm, leveraging their investment in reproductive health to forge vital links, introductions, and ways forward, reinforcing the Coalition’s power of partnership, and extending its already far-reaching impact. The Chair convenes and chairs both the annual meetings of the RHSC and the semi-annual meetings of its Executive Committee. The Chair also works closely with the Coalition Director to ensure effective implementation of Executive decisions and the overall coordination of Coalition operations and activities.
Representatives of any of the Coalition’s member organizations may be nominated to the post of Chair. The Chair serves a two-year term, with the option to extend for up to an additional two-year period, with the approval of the Executive Committee.
Nominations should be forwarded to Executive’s Nomination Committee (upadhyay@unfpa.org), led by Jagdish Upadhyay, by 30 November 2012. Selection of the Chair will be made by the Executive Committee in early 2013 to ensure overlap with the current Chair’s remaining term in office.
