Argentinian NGO FUSA is making savings of up to 50 percent by importing and procuring reproductive health (RH) products directly to young, low-income clients, thereby cutting out the middleman. Until recently, they had been buying RH supplies from private pharmacies at a higher price, but with RHSC support, they received permission from national procurement agency ANMAT to purchase three contraceptive products directly from a national pharmaceutical company and local distributors. In addition, FUSA has completed all the requirements needed to secure an import license from ANMAT, which will offer a wider choice of RH supplies directly from manufacturers at prices more than 60% lower than in private pharmacies. In anticipation, FUSA has expanded service delivery to two new locations in Greater Buenos Aires and Santa Fe Province.
