2009 Contraceptive Social Marketing Statistics

Coalition member and social marketing non-profit DKT International recently published the 2009 Contraceptive Social Marketing Statistics report. This report lists sales of socially marketed contraceptive products in CYPs (couple years of protection) by country and compares sales to those of previous years. Statistics are collected from social marketing organizations such as PSI, MSI, and KfW, as well as donors and UN affiliates. The statistics suggest that, globally, sales of socially marketed products equate to 47.5 million CYP in 2009, a 7.7 million increase over 2008.
