Basic concepts of Logistics and Supply Chain

In this course the student will develop skills that allow to create solutions to typical operational problems using basic concepts of Logistics and Supply Chain: Transport, Stocks, Information and Service Level.

Transport and Distribution: The student will analyze the demand and supply of transport, the costs and modes available and develop a distribution solution integrated with the other components of the supply chain.

Inventory and Storage: The student will analyze the needs of consumers, interpret their demand results to propose an adherent forecasting model, in addition to defining inventory maintenance policies (pulled and pushed) and defining criteria for storage systems.

Order Cycle and Service Level: the interface between logistics and other areas of the organization such as sales, marketing and production is essential for strategic alignment. The student will interpret the needs of internal and external customers to calculate the customer service cycle and adjust the level of service accordingly.
