Donation of ShangRing® reaches 10 countries

11th July 2018

Following on from a landmark announcement made at the Coalition’s General Membership Meeting earlier this year, Coalition member WuHu Snnda has signed an agreement to donate 10,000 units of novel male circumcision device ShangRing® to 10 African countries. WuHu Snnda Medical Treatment Appliance Technology Co., Ltd, will work with another RHSC member, the China Reproductive Health Industry Association (CRHIA), as well as the Chinese Foundation for Prevention of STD and AIDS. Circumcision has been shown to cut the risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS and ShangRing® has been WHO prequalified since 2015. Countries receiving ShangRing® devices are Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
