10,000 male circumcision devices donated by Coalition member to 10 countries in Africa

In Brussels, at the site of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition 18th General Membership Meeting, an important initiative was announced, intended to address the rate of HIV transmission in 10 African countries. Coalition member Wuhu Snnda Medical Treatment Appliance Technology Co. Ltd donated 10,000 WHO prequalified ShangRing male circumcision device to governments and agencies in Uganda, Zambia, Cameroon and other countries. According to the WHO, there is compelling evidence that male circumcision reduces the risk of heterosexually acquired HIV infection in men by approximately 60%. This initiative has come out of an agreement between several players: the China Reproductive Health Industry Association, Wuhu Snnda, Pharm Access Africa, the health ministries of Uganda and Cameroon and the University Teaching Hospital in Zambia.
