Vacancy for Global South representatives on Coalition's Executive Committee

26th October 2012

The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition is a global partnership of over 200 public, private, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can choose, access, and use affordable, high-quality supplies to ensure their better reproductive health. Since 2004, the Coalition has been at the forefront of international efforts to assure reproductive health commodity security by increasing resources, strengthening systems, and building effective partnerships.

The Coalition is currently seeking applicants from organizations wishing to occupy one of two vacant seats on its governing body, the Executive Committee. The seats, which are filled on a two-year, non-renewable basis, are designated for country- or regional-representatives from the Global South. The incumbents will play a key role in ensuring that the Coalition’s policy discussions and decisions remain truly global, and encompass the perspectives and priorities of partners in the Global South.

Applicant organizations may be from any region, sub-region or sector (public or nongovernmental); must have a track record in addressing reproductive health commodity security, and must be a member of the Coalition at the time of application. Interested applicants are invited to prepare a statement of no more than two pages that describes:

1) the reasons they wish to be represented on the Executive Committee;
2) the key constituencies represented by their organization;
3) their expected contribution(s) towards the work of the Executive Committee; and
4) their organization’s track record (or that of member institutions in the case of regional organizations) in addressing reproductive health commodity security.

If possible, applicant organizations should also identify the individual they anticipate representing them on the Committee.

Applications should be submitted to the Secretariat@rhsupplies.org on or before 15 November 2012. It is hoped that the selection process can be completed by the end of 2012, so that the representatives elect can begin their terms in early 2013. Those wishing more information on the Coalition’s Executive Committee may find it online or contact the Coalition’s Director, John P. Skibiak.
