Frank van de Looij elected 7th Chair of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition

3rd January 2021

The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition welcome Frank van de Looij as its new Chair, replacing John Townsend who has served in that role since 2015. Frank was elected by the Coalition’s Executive Committee, having represented the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs on it since October 2018. As Coalition Chair, Frank’s representational responsibilities will transition to a new colleague from within the Ministry. Frank is a health economist by profession, with broad experience in results-based financing, health system strengthening, health economics and facility management in development settings.

“The RHSC has a very specific role to play as we head toward 2030,” says Frank. “It can lead in sharing knowledge and lessons learned on improving supply in the last mile; it brings on board its unique relationship with the private sector; and its Innovation Fund offers much scope if we want to substantially decrease unmet need for family planning in the context of less available ODA.”

Please join us in welcoming Frank and thanking John Townsend for five years of dynamic and committed leadership.
