Congratulations to the recipients of our third round of LAPTOP Scholarships

26th May 2021

Five women and five men have just received LAPTOP Scholarships to further their studies in supply chain management. Supported by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, this latest round of LAPTOP Scholarships sought to encourage talented young people to join the field of supply chain management, especially mindful of the important role to be played by women, who remain underrepresented.

This round, which was open only to candidates from low- and middle-income countries, welcomed scholars from Ghana, Guinea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Solomon Islands, Togo, and Uganda. All the candidates bring with them different passions and experiences―from humanitarian healthcare to health economics and pharmacy. Meet them here.

Over the past eight years, the LAPTOP Scholarship program has been a testament to the power of partnership. It has drawn on different sources of funding― from PATH nearly a decade ago, Bayer in 2014, and this year, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. This year also saw us partner with People that Deliver in the candidate selection process.

LAPTOP Scholarships are part of the Coalition’s strategic commitment to supporting young supply chain managers. Aspiring managers can consult the recently-updated LAPTOP SCM course-finder, and look forward to an upcoming video series of conversations with supply chain experts offering professional advice.
