Rwanda’s Ministry of Health recently uploaded government-funded condom procurement data into the VAN, hitting a milestone in growing country ownership of health commodity data. In doing so, Rwanda now provides a more complete view of the country’s healthcare supply chain, the enhanced visibility allowing partners to see all key information in one place, improving planning, and helping close gaps in funding and supply. The move reflects a strong level of trust between Rwanda and VAN partners and is set to pave the way for other countries to follow suit, building a fuller picture of national family planning commodity supply and needs.
