VAN CPG Advisory Group
The VAN Consensus Planning Group prevents and resolves contraceptive supply imbalances by convening procurers and funders to review data, coordinate shipments, and allocate resources across countries appropriately.
The RHSC Secretariat coordinates the VAN CPG and Terms of Reference govern membership -- subject to data sharing agreements in the VAN Terms of Use. Membership is open to invited participants only based on their supply chain role and provision of contraceptive products.
What we do
The VAN CPG brings together major supply chain actors (including CHAI, UNFPA, JSI, WAHO, and the RHSC) for better coordination between procurers and supply chain stakeholders. These partners share data, coordinate shipments, and allocate resources within and among countries to prevent contraceptive supply imbalances.
Issue resolution and coordination
The VAN CPG provides a forum for donors, procurers, and partners to discuss and solve supply-related issues that affect the availability of family planning products.
Data analysis and resource optimization
The group analyzes supply chain data to recommend actions, prioritize planned orders, and forecast future product demand to make the most of available resources.
Funding gap analysis
For countries sharing data with the VAN, the VAN CPG routinely quantifies the estimated gap between supply needs and available financing at a specific point in time. Select audiences receive funding gap analyses for resource mobilization.
