Maternal Health Supplies Caucus co-hosts event at Women Deliver
27th May 2013
Today, the Coalition's Maternal Health Supplies Caucus, along with the Maternal Health Supplies Working Group, co-hosted an event leading up to the Women Deliver conference. The event, In Our Hands: Successful strategies to prioritize essential maternal health commodities, brought together key global- and country-level stakeholders to discuss critical issues concerning the security of maternal health supplies and addressed meeting rooms filled to capacity. Panelists included Julia Bunting (Coalition Chair and IPPF), Carolyn Hart (JSI), Moses Muwonge, Co-Chair of Coalition’s RMA Working Group, and Olanike Adedeji, UNFPA/Nigeria. The panel was moderated by Rachel Wilson of PATH.
Recurring themes that emerged included the critical need for data, the need to engage the Global South, and the importance of getting the right leadership to support country-level initiatives. Julia Bunting reinforced the importance of partnerships, adding that everybody had the ability to advocate for change. For more information contact Bonnie Keith.
