Preeclampsia/Eclampsia: Tools, Medicines and Supplies, New Developments, and Quality Studies

This webinar discussed the new tools, medicines and supplies for PE/E as well as the quality of antihypertensives. Unitaid shared updates on its pre-eclampsia strategy and recent landscaping on gaps and opportunities to better address this condition in low- and middle-income countries, Burnet Institute presented on the state of knowledge on pre-eclampsia risk screening and aspirin for pre-eclampsia prevention, and the ongoing work of the PEARLS Trial on pre-eclampsia screening and prevention, and Monash University summarized a systematic review of the literature and other evidence relating to the quality of medicines used globally for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. In addition, it will detail an ongoing study conducted by Monash and partners assessing the quality of these medicines in four countries. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Metin Gülmezoglu, Chair of the Maternal Health Supplies Caucus and Executive Director of Concept Foundation.
