January 2012
The Caucus on New and Underused Reproductive Health Technologies held its frst quarterly teleconference of 2012 on January 10th. Participants discussed progress on the Maternal Health Supplies Task Force (MHSTF), the 2012 update of the Product Briefs, and the activities the group would like to undertake in 2012. Product Briefs are expected to be online the first week of February, and members will be seeking to translate them into Spanish and French and disseminate them at country level this year. The MHSTF is progressing well and currently has about 28 members. Discussions are yielding some ideas of where the Coalition can help add value to efforts to increase access to maternal health supplies, but there is much work yet to be done. Other activities for 2012 will include dissemination of the forecasting guide developed by IRH, JSI, and PSI, as well as an exercise looking at the various essential drugs lists and where Caucus products fit into them. The Caucus is still in need of a liaison to the RMA WG, please contact Bonnie if you are interested. The next teleconference will be 10 April 2012.
