RHSC General Membership Meeting Postponed

This morning, the US Department of State issued a travel warning, pointing to an increased risk of a threats to international hotels located along the Dakar shoreline. That message was soon followed by those of other national governments. As you know, it was precisely at one of these hotels, the Radisson Blu, where we had chosen to host this year’s general membership meeting.
In light of this threat, and the concerns expressed by many of you who had heard of them, our Executive Committee has taken the unanimous decision to postpone the Dakar meeting. I am writing to advice you of their decision so as to minimize the inconvenience for those who have not yet begun their journey. For those who have already embarked, I realize this message will be of little consolation.
This is a disappointment for so many of you who planned this event and for the many more who had planned to attend it. But to have held the meeting at one of these hotels, despite the clear and specific warnings, could have put at potential risk the safety of participants, certainly undermined their peace of mind, and jeopardized the reputation of the RHSC
