New brief on female condoms

9th April 2015

The Universal Access to Female Condoms Joint Programme (UAFC) released a new brief on female condoms on national Essential Medicines Lists (EML).

Leveraging a collection of EMLs organized by NURHT Caucus colleagues at the International Consortium for Emergency Contraception—who produced a similar brief on the status of emergency contraception on EMLs—UAFC analyzed a total of 118 national EMLS and identified specific issues identified for advocacy toward WHO and national governments to have female condoms included on EMLs, as part of the enabling policy environment to improve maternal and reproductive health.
