74% of survey respondents implement climate change-related activities

7th May 2025

A clear majority of the 42 respondents in a recent survey issued by RHSC reported working on climate-related issues. Thirty-one organizations said they were working on resilience, mitigation, and/or adaptation strategies. Remarkably, a quarter of all activity is being conducted on a voluntary basis, with 39% funded, and 29% as joint activities between organizations. Respondents identified lack of funding as the biggest barrier to work addressing climate change impacts on supply chains and reproductive health.

In recent years, RHSC’s focus on the intersection of reproductive health supplies and the environment / climate has intensified, resulting in the formation of a sub-group on climate change comprised of members from across the Coalition's many Implementing Mechanisms, as well as the occurrence of webinars and consultations on the subject. Earlier this year, RHSC unveiled its new Program of Action, in which one of its five objectives is to “Leverage the momentum around climate change in support of RH commodity security.” We look forward to connecting with our members doing work in this space, collaborating, and together seeking to make a difference.
