Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Welcome to the Department of Management Science. We are concerned with developing and applying scientific principles through models and concepts in resolving managerial problems, in pursuit of operational excellence and managerial effectiveness. Training offered in the department opens the door to a wide range of careers, from general management, where logical, mathematical, and project based skills are much in demand, to specialized management knowledge areas like Logistics and Supply Chain Management in which both Teaching and research are organized.

Today we offer two main programmes namely: (1) Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and (2) Bachelor of Business Management with specialization in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. The MBA also has specializations in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. The Department also offers professional courses like CIPS-UK & CPSPK besides service courses to other departments in the University. The Department houses the secretariat of the Directorate of Research, Innovations & Development.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Management specialization will develop business professionals to manage the value creation processes from the procurement and supply of resources up to final delivery channels to customers. At the moment it is one of the emerging areas for corporate competitiveness

The Department has a wealth of high ranking staff headed by Dr. Abuya Joshua Olang’o, (PhD), MCIPS, MKISM who is a distinguished Lecturer in Logistics & Supply Chain Management with a wide teaching experience at both International & Local Universities ranging from Public Universities to Private Universities. He has a PhD in Logistics in & Supply Chain Management. He is also a Chartered Procurement & Supply Chain Professional from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply-(CIPS-UK). He is also a Full Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
