Sixty partners push to deliver on promises in Kampala

20th May 2014

Sixty partners met last April in Kampala to accelerate progress towards achieving national commitments to RH commodity security. Leveraging the Coalition’s solid track-record at creating a neutral space for open discussion and dialogue, Drs. Moses Muwonge and Jotham Musinguzi—both members of the Coalition’s Executive Committee—invited technical specialists, government officials, parliamentarians, and service providers to begin thinking about what it will take Uganda’s RH community to fulfill the supply commitments made at key international events since the 1996 Maputo Conference.  The new open platform will serve as the foundation for a longer-term programme to be supported under the Coalition’s new “Delivering on Promises” initiative.  By rallying key stakeholders around a multi-sector agenda for action, this approach offers promise as a model for other country-engagement initiatives, such as those underway in connection with FP2020 and the UN Commission on Life saving Commodities (UNCoLSC).
