Contraceptive Stockouts in Latin America

The Regional UNFPA Office in Panama conducted a panoramic study to analyze the prevalence of contraceptive stockouts in Latin America, their magnitude and tendencies, identifying bottlenecks in the supply chains as well as potential measures to contribute to contraceptive security. The study was conducted by Dr. Carlos Anigstein with the support of Federico Tobar and Sergio Lenci. The study maps the stockouts of contraceptives in four countries: Nicaragua, Haiti, Ecuador and Honduras and helps to understand the reasons that causes stockouts in order to identify potential solutions.
