COMISCA® Joint Negotiation

The "COMISCA® Joint Negotiation" is a mechanism for cost containment which favors access to quality, secure and effective medicines at a regional price which is lower than that obtained during individual country by country procurement. This manner of negotiation is a regional initiative which has turned into a public policy promoted by the Council of Health Ministers of Central America and Dominican Republic (COMISCA), which has been institutionalized in SECOMISCA, in the framework of the Integrated Central American System SICA – this is a good practice which is constantly being analyzed and evaluated in order to improve the process continuously.
