Course objective

The program integrates curriculum and expertise from Duquesne’s Mylan School of Pharmacy, the John G. Rangos, Sr., School of Health Sciences and the A. J. Palumbo School of Business Administration, to contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care supply chain. The broad-based curriculum emphasizes the importance of integrating supply chain activies regarding purchasing, inventory control, operations, distribution, customer service, and transportation. The Health Care Supply Chain Management program introduces students to all elements of the supply chain as they relate to the health care system. The program provides students with an understanding of the American health care system and the clinical and therapeutic terminology of that system. Students will also develop an understanding of the application of information technology in the health care system.
