The Countries-at-Risk (CAR) group brings together representatives of the world’s key commodity suppliers to address in a timely manner, short-term supply crises that periodically befall countries. At its monthly meetings, the group identifies pending supply shortages, tries to understand their cause, develops solutions, and if possible, applies them.
Coordinated by the Coalition Secretariat, CAR member organizations include the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) New York, UNFPA Copenhagen, the United States Agency for International Development, World Bank, RHInterchange, the KfW banking group, and the Coalition Secretariat. Depending on the countries under review, other participants have included the United Kingdom Department for International Development, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, and Crown Agents.
How to bring a supply crisis to the attention of the CAR
The CAR seeks to provide emergency responses to countries with a looming or actual supply crisis. It cannot address broader systemic issues; nor can it effectively meet the needs of countries that fall outside the remit of the CAR's core members. If you wish to bring a supply crisis to their attention, please complete the form below. The Coalition Secretariat will contact you promptly.
